This event aims to bring together PhD students with an
interest in international law to discuss the relevance of recent
developments in
the law to their own research. You are invited to be an active
participant in the symposium by presenting a piece of your own research
to an audience of other PhD students and academics. This will give you
the valuable opportunity to practice talking about your own work
alongside others at similar stages in their academic careers.
The theme of the symposium is recent decisions of
international courts, tribunals and organisations in any field of
international law, a topic
designed to allow as many people as possible to discuss what impact
recent developments in international law have had on their areas of
research. All participants are asked to prepare a 15 minute
presentation and abstracts should be provided to the organisers by the 24th April 2006.
Participation in the symposium is free and up to
£32 per person will be available for the first twenty-five
applicants to cover
their travel and accommodation costs. Lunch and refreshments will also
be provided at no additional cost and all participants are invited to a
cheese and wine reception at the end of the symposium.
