Aims
THIS PROJECT provides an easily accessible unified catalogue to
relevant archival holdings relating to all aspects of the history of
the Scottish book trade, based on standardised descriptors, viewable on
the Web in order to allow researchers to gain a comprehensive picture
of this distributed resource. It will be of crucial importance in the
location of primary materials particularly for the purpose of case
study and also provides a valuable map of archival resources relating
to the Scottish book trades. The database will be periodically updated
as more material is released into the public domain. The second stage will include seventeenth and eighteenth-century
Scottish archives, while the third stage will include twentieth-century
archives.
