Research

The College is home to leading international researchers across the full spectrum of disciplines in Humanities and Social Science.

The University and City provide superb resources for graduate students, and most of our research training activities are coordinated through specialist graduate schools.

The College is home to interdisciplinary research centres including the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and the Research Centre in Social Science.

Research in the College is supported by grants from a range of bodies. The College hosts major centres funded by the AHRC and the ESRC.

The College is also home to The Confucius Institute for Scotland.

Lectures and Seminars

The College organises the prestigious Gifford, Northern Scholars, Munro and Inaugural lecture series. Additionally, the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) runs a seminar series. All lectures and seminars are open to members of the public.
